Lyn Small, Inc. was incorporated in 1991. Owner and founder, Lyn Small, has been in the marine construction business for 21 years. He was joined by son, Scott, in 1994, and son, Donny, in 1995. The firm has grown from 4 employees to three full crews, along with shop, office and management personnel.

The company built a custom barge for pile setting in 1998. A second, smaller barge which allows for ease of access to construction, was designed and built in 2001.

LSI is licensed as a general contractor with the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors. The company is fully insured with liability and worker's compensation insurance. Surety bonds are available when required.

Beginning with bulkhead construction, LSI has added piers, docks, boat lifts and many other residential and commercial structures. The company is the area distributor for Hi-Tide boat lifts and for NorthStar Vinyl Products.

Operating in Currituck, Dare, Hyde, and surrounding counties, LSI has the experience and expertise for any type of marine construction project. In addition to construction, the firm offers permit acquisition, professional plans and designs, and computer aided bulkhead analysis.
